Sergio is one of our founding partners and one of the first IP Agents in Mozambique. His main emphasis is on Industrial Property, but his expertise extends also to the following: patents, industrial design, utility models, domain names, prosecuting, enforcement and dispute resolutions. He specializes in searching, clearing and filing of Trademarks. He also counsel and assist foreign companies and associates to obtain IP protection in Mozambique. He recently obtained his master’s degree in Business Law - Corporate Governance from Higher Institute of Science and Technology of Mozambique (ISCTEM). In 2009 Sergio received an award from the Institute of Industrial Property of Mozambique for the most dynamic Official Agent of Intellectual Property for the decade. When Sergio has a moment to relax he enjoys to travel, read, updating his blog and spending time in nature.

Helena is one of our founding partners. She is a South African lawyer with a LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and moved to Mozambique years ago. Helena concentrates on contentious matter and brand protection activities, with a particular emphasis on the development of business strategies aimed at combating the imitation of products. When Helena is not protecting brands you will probably find her on the golf course or in some art gallery.

Claudia have been working in Intellectual Property since 2013 and joined the Braz Team in 2015. She works directly with national and international clients, assisting with enquiries. She has experience in matters related to counterfeiting, an area in which she has made various presentations at seminars or training sessions focusing on brand protection. She has a Bachelor in Commerce and Finance, by the Higher Institute of Management, Commerce and Finance. Cláudia is a very determined person, as she strives every day to achieve her goals.

Laiza has been part of our team since November 2018. She’s got excellent time management skills and her ability to multitask and prioritize with a positive can-do attitude together with her experience and knowledge have made her a valuable member of our team. Handling of all office tasks such as, requesting trademark registration certificates from IPI, filing of DIU’s and updating documents for all clients are just some of her duties. Her main duties and responsibilities at Braz requires her to assist everybody with their day to day administrative duties. She is always willing to help were she can. When Laiza is not at the office she loves to travel, read, cook and being active outdoors.

Lourenço Armando, has been on the team as an administrative assistant since 2017. He is responsible for liaising with the IPI office on a daily basis. He is a passionate family man and cook! Lourenço is a great fan of music and also makes sure everyone in the office is always well informed of the latest album releases in all genres!

Maria started her journey with Braz in 2014 as an administrative assistant. She qualified as an Official Agent of Industrial Property in 2016. She has a degree in Planning, Administration and Management of Education from the Pedagogical University in Maputo. She has experience in the registration of Industrial Property Rights and also coordinates on enforcement matters. Her experience in administration makes her a valuable part of our team, as she can also assist with updating of files, scheduling of meetings, marketing and many more tasks. Maria enjoys cooking and traveling with her family.
